Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These terms are between you and Xylora Studios, publisher of Student Track. Installing, opening or using the app, on Android or in a browser, means you accept them. If you do not, do not use the app.

If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Student Track with the agreement of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms with you.

2. What Student Track is

Student Track is a study organiser. It records your timetable, attendance, tasks, exams, grades, study time and costs, and shows you what that adds up to.

It is a tool, not an authority. It is not a substitute for your institution's official records, and an attendance figure or grade projection inside the app carries no academic weight.

3. Your data is your responsibility

Your records are stored on your device and nowhere else. We hold no copy, so we cannot restore anything for you.

Losing your device, uninstalling the app, clearing browser storage or a device fault can therefore lose your records permanently. Export a backup regularly, and keep it somewhere separate.

Importing a backup is always available, on every tier, including the free tier. You will never be charged to get your own data back.

4. Tiers

Free gives you the core of the app, for as long as you want, with no time limit and no obligation.

Yearly unlocks the full app for twelve months and renews each year until you cancel.

Lifetime unlocks the full app with a single payment, including future releases, with nothing to renew.

The exact split between free and paid is listed on the pricing page and inside the app, and may change over time. Anything you have already paid for stays unlocked.

5. Buying on the web

Web purchases are processed by Stripe. Prices are set in pounds sterling and displayed in your own currency for convenience, and the amount actually charged is shown to you at checkout before you confirm.

Any applicable tax is calculated at checkout. Once a purchase completes, a licence key is issued to you immediately.

A yearly purchase renews automatically each year unless cancelled. You can cancel at any time and keep access to the end of the period you have paid for.

6. Buying on Android

Purchases made in the Android app are processed by Google Play under Google's terms. Prices there are set by us in Play Console and may differ from web prices.

Managing or cancelling a Google Play purchase is done through Google Play, not through us.

7. Licence keys and devices

A paid purchase gives you a personal licence key which unlocks the app for your own use.

A key is tied to the email address on your purchase and is activated per device. When you activate it, the key is locked to that device, so a key that is posted publicly or passed to someone else unlocks nothing for them.

After activation the check happens entirely on your device with no server involved, so the paid tier continues to work offline indefinitely.

You may activate your key on a reasonable number of your own devices. If you change or reset a device and run out of slots, ask through the Support screen and we will free them up for you at no charge.

Publishing, selling or sharing a key is not permitted, and a key used at a scale that is clearly not personal use may be revoked.

8. All sales are final

We do not give refunds. Every purchase is final, on every plan, and this is stated before you pay and confirmed by you at checkout.

The free tier exists precisely so you can decide before spending anything. It is not time limited and it never shows advertising, so please use it for as long as you need before you buy.

Purchases made through Google Play are governed by Google Play's own policy, which we cannot override. Any request of that kind is made to Google Play, not to us.

Cancelling a yearly plan stops the next renewal and you keep access to the end of the period already paid for. Cancelling does not refund the period you are in.

9. Complimentary and trial grants

We may issue time limited or complimentary access, for example to testers, reviewers or students in difficulty. Such a grant is discretionary, personal to the recipient, and reverts to the free tier when it expires. Your records are untouched when it does.

10. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to defeat, patch or work around the licence check, distribute modified builds, or resell the app.

Do not use the support channel to abuse the people answering it.

We may withdraw a licence for a serious or repeated breach of this section.

11. Availability

The app itself works offline and does not depend on us being online. The website, checkout and licence issuing are online services and may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control.

Features described as planned are intentions, not promises, and may change or be dropped.

12. No warranty

Student Track is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that it is free of defects, or that a reminder will always fire on a device whose operating system has chosen to sleep the app.

Check anything that genuinely matters, such as an exam time, against your institution's own information.

13. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost data, missed classes, missed deadlines, academic outcomes, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.

14. Intellectual property

Student Track, its name, its logo and its code belong to Xylora Studios. Buying a licence buys you the right to use the app, not ownership of it.

The records you enter belong to you entirely, and we claim no rights over them.

15. Changes to these terms

The current terms always live at https://student-track.xylorastudios.com/terms and are shown inside the app, with the effective date at the top. Material changes are noted in the release notes. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting any protection you have under the law of your own country of residence.
